Cedar Falls November 6 Will Haskenhoff of Waterlow township, 74, and his 74-year-old helper Daniel Motry, finished an eight-acre corn field yielding 60 bushels per acre. They already picked 12 acres of sweet corn for Cedar Falls Canning. Motry can husk 30 to 40 bushels in eight hours. Corn Price to Pick Up as Jardine Expects Demand Rise
Washington, Nov. 6 Farmers with corn to sell may see better market prospects for the new crop, Secretary William M. Jardine says. European corn stocks are down about 23 percent from last year, Argentina prices are high, and export demand should lift prices this year despite a similar domestic situation to 1925. Total supplies are about 2.967 billion bushels versus 2.909 last year, with cattle prices higher and the foreign market outlook brighter, suggesting corn prices will not fall as low as in 1925-26.
