Notice to 300 vehicle owners on transfer reporting
County attorney letters were sent to about 300 owners of motor vehicles who have transferred cars. The law requires notice of transfer to be sent within three days to the secretary of state. Names transmitted to county attorneys are for misdemeanor prosecutions for noncompliance. Of the 300 delinquents, 200 owned cars and 100 owned motorcycles. If unpaid, further action will follow. Also, 1926 license plates will be valid three years with annual payment. Secretary of State Allen mails forms to be returned.
