Vicky Van App Dual Role Triumph At Clayton Theater
Theatrical feature reviews praise Vicky Van as a dramatic, highly appealing screen story written by Carolyn Wells and adapted by Marion Fair. Also shown are a Fatty Arbuckle comedy and Mabel Normand in Mickey at the Palace weekly. Normand delivers charm and laughs with Mack Sennett’s production, costing about 300,000 dollars, entertaining audiences all week. Norma Talmadge’s The Prohibition Wife screens tomorrow at Crystal Theatre with a tale of a cafe girl and a man who helps her escape. A real estate or lost-and-found note ends the listing.

How the Good Roads Dollar Will Be Spent
The diagram shows the average distribution of funds for good roads to pull Black Hawk County out of the mud and keep it there. Federal aid and motor vehicle taxes form the Primary Road Fund funding most grading and draining, and three quarters of paying costs. Only one quarter comes from special assessments. A yes vote on both questions unlocks these dollars.

Good Roads Rally Promises Local Labor and Long Term Benefit
Election Tuesday urges Black Hawk County voters to approve road bonds. Projected $1.5 million over five to six years would allocate about $915,000 to labor, stimulating hundreds of local jobs and keeping most wages within the county. Materials and overhead comprise the rest as officials forecast permanent, state linked roads. A large Good Roads Rally is planned at the Waterloo Theatre Monday evening led by the I. C. A. R. Band.
