Black Hawk County votes on $1,000,000 road bonds May 31 1929
The Black Hawk County Board of Supervisors seeks authority to issue $1,000,000 in primary road bonds at a May 31 1929 election. Proceeds fund road paving via the primary road system from motor vehicle fees gas tax and federal aid rather than property taxes. The plan would allow Black Hawk to finish paving its system in 1929 1930 and make the payoff from existing funds. Also on the ballot is a request to authorize bonds for the county detention hospital to cover a $15 000 levy.
