Prohibition Safe With Youth Reported by Assembly
San Francisco May 28 The Presbyterian church board reported to the one hundred thirty ninth general assembly that prohibition is more firmly entrenched, noting strides in enforcement as liquor traffic becomes less commercialized. The pension drive for aged ministers and dependents reached 15 million dollars, while a campaign for Sunday observance as a Sabbath day was urged to continue. The assembly opened amicably but faced expected clashes over Princeton seminary’s report on fundamentalist liberal tensions.
