Cause of Blast Not Diagloged at Inquest
Cedar Rapids May 28 coroner jury returned a verdict that fire from an unknown cause caused the explosion at the Douglas starch plant killing 48 and costing 3 million in damage. The inquest was kept open to allow injured men to testify and the coroner ordered the inquiry closed after limited questions from Rev Bremers who planned to address the matter from his pulpit. Two more bodies were recovered as the search continued.
