The narrative recounts the apostles teaching in the temple despite orders not to, their arrest and questioning by the council, and Peter’s insistence on obeying God. Gamaliel counsels restraint, the apostles are beaten, and they rejoice to suffer for Christ while continuing to preach Jesus. An odd insertion notes Australia’s cucumber apple fruit.
John Keeler, a railway worker, sues Lautersweller undertaking in Fort Dodge Iowa for 20000 in district court. He alleges a body identified as his brother Frank Keeler was moved from the coffin to a rough box after church services, stripped of clothes, and buried improperly. The suit references events around November 28, 1926.
Rough box and carried before the funeral cortege delayed the march by a half hour as the body was removed from the coffin and placed in the rough pine box. Charles Laufereweller of the undertaking firm forced the box into the grave while mourners watched. A former employee later alleged the charges were trumped up and vowed to fight in court.
