Brothers Meet in Waterloo After 51 Years Separation
A Waterloo crossing shanty tale recalls John Norman, 69, and his brother Tom Norman, 68, reuniting after 51 years. Tom, once a frontier prospector who rode with Villa, traveled from Dubuque to visit their 90-year-old mother in Crown Point before returning to Waterloo. Both brothers reflect on long, sparse correspondence and a life split between railroading and the western frontier.
