Price trends questioned by local clothier amid sporadic cuts
Waterloo merchant F M Beane argues that current price reductions in men s clothing are temporary and will not last. He cites higher costs and rising future delivery prices from jobbers, predicting an upward trend for tall woolens and broader deflation requires coordinated action by producers and retailers. He maintains profits shrink while discounts tempt buys but deplete stock.
