Congregational Jubilee Meeting to Be Held in Des Moines

Des Moines was chosen as the next meeting place for the 1915 Iowa Congregational conference during the May 22 session in Marshalltown. The conference altered its program after Rev. W. M. Short signed the saloon petition, designating Rev. Naboth Osborne to deliver the sermon. Lieut. Gov. Harding faced criticism from Rev. D. P. Breed and Rev. O. H. Holmes for alleged pro saloon ties, with Holmes claiming Harding aided burial of a prohibition amendment in the senate. Committees were named at the meeting, with most to report at the 1915 conference, including nominations, ministerial qualifications, and placement of the meeting.
