West High Girls Track Meet Opens With Five Events
West High girls completed five of eight events on the school field after classes yesterday. Thelma Hoepner led in the 50 yard dash and 66 yard high hurdles with times of seven seconds and 12 seconds, and tied for lead in the high jump at four feet three inches with Helen Whittle. Whittle and Mary Northey placed second and third in the dash. Jerry Urinkman won the basket ball throw at 62 feet, three and a half inches, while Northey took the baseball throw at 127 feet eight inches.
