Leona Brackevelt 17, of Moline, missing after dispute with father over a Belgian suitor, was found dead in the Mississippi near Sixth street. she left a note for Harry Ward, a Silvis hotel cook, and bade friends goodbye before disappearing. Police traced her absence to a car line farewell and a planned meeting with a Rock Island acquaintance.

Reduced retirond rates will be given Lowans coming to the state fair this year under a ruling by the executive committee. The plan sets fare plus a minimum of 1 dollar for all points within the state for fairs in the Western Passenger association territory held before Sept. 1, 1920. The same territorial exceptions apply as in 1910 with the Iowa State Fair August 25 to September 0.

Sioux City report notes Woodbury county farm output with hens laying 13 million eggs. The 1919 farm census lists 12,365 hogs lost to cholera and counts of livestock including 197,406 cattle boxes, 19,450 horses, 1,593 mules, 56,774 cattle, and 10,939 cows or heifers.
