Pheasants Taken in Butler County Reach 1190 in One Day
Allison Iowa May 19 Special Capturing pheasants on Butler county farms for bounty yesterday reached 1190 live birds delivered to the state fish and game department representative stationed at the farm bureau office here. Up to May 19 a total of 2662 live birds had been shipped since May 1 when the season opened for 20 days. The state pays 1 dollar per bird in good condition and eggs bounty created a side effort to gather eggs for hatchery.

In Pomlok Court Judge J C Beem imposed penalties on four suspects after a 2 a m joyride. Arthur Sanders driver received 30 days or $100 fine. Grace White got 15 days or $50. Toe Skillings and Tillie Jones faced minimum sentences of three days or $10 each. The quartet was remanded to Leh.

Fruit trees bloom on main trunks spotted in Iowa
In Shell Rock Iowa on May 19 reports note several fruit trees showing blossoms on the main trunk. P Ensley counts two clusters on his apple tree one about five feet up and another one foot higher on the trunk. The tree bloomed heavily earlier and efforts are under way to prevent fretting to monitor development.
