Early Career Path of a Stage and Screen Actor
Hal Keld began on stage at age five as Little Eva in Uncle Tom Cabin and later performed in vaudeville with his father. He left acting to work as a civil engineer on the Shoshone dam project in Montana, then ran a Wyoming hotel before becoming an editor and later joined a motion picture company. He learned camera work, directed, wrote scénarios, and acted leading roles. He joined Lasky to star with Geraldine Farrar in Carmen and has since been a prominent Lasky star.
