The Evening Chit Chat by Ruth Cameron tale of value

Prose Fragments on Proportion and Social Observation

The speaker laments uneven proportion in society while noting a woman who values orderly homes yet overlooks deeper beauty. A rural girl visiting a city cousin attends a theatre party, cannot afford long gloves, wears short ones, and hopes no one notices.

Feet Talk TIZ Bath Claims Comforting Feet Relief

An early 20th century sale pitch touts TIZ foot bath as relief for aching feet. It promises dramatic wearers’ benefits, urges readers to try a free trial, and cites a Wisconsin customer testimonial. The ad urges purchases at 25 cents a box via Walter Luther Dodge & Co of Chicago and notes money back if ineffective.
