O Bleness Dies After Stroke at 72 in Iowa Falls
John O Bleness 72 of Iowa Falls died at 5 p m yesterday in a local hospital from complications after a stroke. Born November 25 1854 in Wisconsin he moved to Iowa, settled in Iowa Falls, and married Minnie Holbrook who died three years ago. He worked for the Chicago Rock Island & Pacific as a stationary fireman and belonged to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen Iowa Falls lodge Woodmen of the World. Surviving besides his son Harlow are two other sons Orren of Chicago and Han of Oskaloosa. The body will be taken to Iowa Falls Sunday for funeral services and burial Monday.
