Cedar Falls Interurban Service Suspended For Track Relocation
The Cedar Falls interurban line between Waters Loop and Cedar Falls will suspend for 60 days to relocate half a mile of track from Ansborough Avenue to Rainbow Drive just east of Slim's filling station. The project will reduce a grade and straighten the line, moving tracks about 46 feet north and removing 30,000 yards of earth to submerged Deere property for expansion. Extra busses will replace service and passes will be honored on buses during the work.
