Consumer wheat crop benefits may lower flour prices
Chicago reports millers say the advancing wheat crop will push cash wheat down. Flour prices may drop when new wheat comes in, with current flour about $4 a barrel below September levels and $1.50 under year start quotes. Bakers in Denver, Des Moines, and Lincoln note potential price effects, with bread supports at 13 to 14 cents for 22 to 24 ounce loaves and no immediate cuts yet.
