Lieutenant Howard W. Garrison returned Saturday from Fresno with Walter Peterson who faces a charge of embezzlement. A bond was ready and Peterson was given his liberty pending a decision.

Preliminary Hearing Set In Robbery Case
A middle aged man who gave his name as Rushland was released Saturday afternoon after a preliminary hearing before Justice French at 10 o clock Thursday morning. Bond set at 1000 dollars. Sheriff Henderson arrested him last Wednesday on suspicion of being the man sought by C M Dennis of Philadelphia on charges of robbery in eastern cities. Sheriff wired Philadelphia but received no reply. The arrest was based on resemblance to a description from Philadelphia. The Evening Courier notes the paper’s wide circulation aids advertising readership.
