OWA Factories See Output Rise With Spring Opening
Des Moines May 9 Employment in town rose 1.8 percent in April over March per the Labor Commission report. Textiles gained 11.3 percent and stone and clay products 30 percent, the largest increases among 11 industry groups. Some declines occurred in lumber products leather and tobacco. Cedar Rapids and Waterloo showed slight declines while Burlington Davenport Des Moines Sioux City posted gains.
