Sumner Iowa to gain three miles of paved streets
Sumner Iowa expects about three miles of paved streets by July as excavation nears completion. Bryant Paving Company chief Bryant aims for early finish while a boulevard lighting system is planned in the business district. The Sumner Community club will mark roads into Sumner with small steel signs within 15 to 20 miles. The city park, funded by a local tax, is being prepared for summer use with band concerts and picnic areas. The passing of Peter Forsman, an early pioneer linked to Sumner’s business, is noted.
