Rail service shifts to motor cars between Cedar Rapids and Manly
Rock Island will discontinue trains 66 and 67 tomorrow and replace them with gasoline motor cars. Mail will move in pouches only and express shipments face hardship for local businesses. The change, driven by war era policy, will cause delays for Waterloo area firms and require more staff to handle orders. Mr. R H Johnston called it a necessary adjustment.
