Citizen Training Camp for Iowans at Fort Snelling

Washington News Bureau Waterloo Evening Courier May 5 report on War Department citizen training camps for July and August. Fort Snelling Minnesota will host an eight week program starting August 1 to teach five citizenship principles to selected U S youths ages 16 to 35 at no cost. Col C S Lincoln notes camps aim to build service, health, self discipline, order, and teamwork. uniforms arms and travel are provided. Also referenced is ready publication of draft evader lists totaling 160,000, to be distributed to corps areas and postmasters for public posting.
