Iowa Building Boosters Swing Through the State
A party of Iowa boosters left Des Moines on eight special trains for a seven day statewide swing to back the Greater Iowa association and the Iowa building at the Panama-Pacific Exposition. In Oskaloosa W. W. Marsh presided as G W French Dean Curtiss Ralph Bolton and C D Cass spoke. locals pledged $2,000 for the exposition building. In Ottumwa a luncheon hosted by the Commercial club preceded a $4,000 pledge from Ottumwa businessmen.

Horace S. Hollingsworth, secretary of the Associated Charities, urged Chicago Rock Island Pacific Railway to send 33 Mexicans back to Mexico. Man and Wife Die After Car Tumbles in Storm Chase
Town City May 5. An auto driven by W B Jones of Oxford turned turtle near Marengo Sunday night while racing a storm. Jones died instantly and his wife died yesterday from injuries. Two other passengers were uninjured. Jones was a prominent grain merchant.

Chicago May 5 John F Jelke oleomargarine maker was fined 10000 and sentenced to two years in jail for conspiracy to defraud the government by illicitly colored oleomargarine. Seven other defendants connected to the Jelke company were fined 2500 each.
