Engagement announcements, farewell gatherings, lavender tea for Miss Helen Register, and numerous club activities fill the day, from W. C. T. U. to Phi Beta Tau and M. E. church groups.

When a favor is given forget the thanks

Ruth Cameron writes on genuine generosity not seeking praise or formal thanks. She recalls roses given for a washerwoman’s silver wedding and contrasts true kindness with gifts that require repayment in compliments. The piece argues generosity should be steadfast, not contingent on gratitude or inspection by others.
