Irving Hotel to Stop Serving Meals in Waterloo
The Irving hotel at Bridge and Commercial Streets will cease serving meals and be used for lodging only, due to a persistent shortage of competent dining room and kitchen help. Owners Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Kingsley may convert the lower floor to four or five store rooms if offered favorable rent. This follows the Logan House dining room closure and reflects widespread servant girl shortages affecting area hotels.
