Hines to testify in Springfield bribery probe
Edward Hines lumber baron and Lorimer lobbyist will become the first witness before the Helm committee as it reopens its investigation into the last general assembly in Springfield. Subpoenaed in Chicago, Hines is expected to testify under oath about his behind the scenes role in Lorimer's senatorship and lobbying activities while denying any improper conduct.
