Philadelphia March 27. Prof. Jean St Beck of the University of Pennsylvania revives a 3 000 year old two reed flute from an Egyptian nobleman tomb. He notes the instrument uses side reeds and all notes sound equally loud, a feature unlike modern flutes. A slave girl shown in wall painting in the tomb of pharaoh Ounas circa 806 B.C. played a nearly identical flute.
