Jitney buses expand in Waterloo area and plans emerge
The jitney bus service grows rapidly in Waterloo with at least six lines now in operation and more to open this spring. Most small busses lack routes but will soon be assigned. No license is required unless transporting passengers to depots. Cedar Rapids imposes annual licenses from 75 to 150 dollars based on passenger count. Proposals include a Bathhouse downtown line and a route to the baseball park, plus streets with no streetcar service.
