Two Thirds of World Talc Supply From U S
The United States produces about two thirds of the world talc supply, says the Bureau of Mines. Talc is a key filler in paper and paints, with North Carolina, Georgia, Vermont, and California among major sources. Ground talc serves in paper, rubber, coatings, and cosmetics, while massive talc is used for insulation and foundry facings. Vermont, New York lead in deposits. Vermont over 7,000,000 tons reported.

The Man with the Hammer and the Brush and Pen
A fragmentary verse depicts a man with a hammer as a content, free craftsman whose troubles seem few, while a man with a brush and a pen evoke pity as they contemplate starting anew. The hammer bearer appears to lead the others in a cyclical, wary refrain about knocking and reopening paths.
