Smiles and Kinks From Today's Wires
United Press reports oddities and bizarre incidents from across the country. In Warren Purcell ordered oysters and found 3060 dollars worth of pearls in his meal. In Columbus customers were amused and startled by a slot drink machine used by a clerk. In Atlanta a shopkeeper tried a Frankenstein stunt but a tall man’s legs foiled the plan. Henry Ford faced a comic brush with a brainchild as a moving target. Waterbury police halted a ghost terrorizing women and children who turned out to be a white wing roaming a speakeasy.
