County Board to Decide on La Porte City Road Improvement

The La Porte County board weighs bringing city road work into the county system to connect La Porte City to Brandon and Jubilee. City officials say the city cannot fund the half mile within city limits, with costs estimated at 300000 to 400000 for relocation and new bridges. The board notes the county can allocate about 40000 yearly, with bridges over a flood prone low ground and eroding sandy soil. FR Decker led the discussion with attorney W M Blough and A G Reid present along with Iowa highway official J A Paulsen.
