Thousands of Wild Ducks Seen on One Pond Near Washburn
Several thousand wild ducks nest in small lakes and feed in nearby cornfields in the bottoms between Waterloo and La Porte City. A mass of about 2000 ducks was observed on one pond by Courier reporters, with a larger flock reported on a nearby lake. Warden Tom Waldron patrols the area seeking violators of spring bird protection.

Camping Plans For Scout Camp Near Waverly
A meeting of the camping committee of the Boy Scout council will be held at Black's tearoom Friday at noon to draft resolutions approving building plans for a new scout camp near Waverly. Estimates for a mess hall cook shack supply house with cooling cellar headquarters and bunkhouses have been obtained with aims to complete several structures before the 1925 camping season opens June 23.

Charlie Stearns Honored After 56 Years With Express
Charlie Stearns aged 56 years with the American Express company and its successor the American Railway Express will retire on pension and receive a gold service medal at a March 25 jubilee.
