Studebaker workers offer united coast to company
We 23,000 men here are 23,000 of us building Studebaker cars. Most are partners, thousands are stockholders, and all receive dividends, vacations with pay, and after five years a 10 percent rise. The firm spends vast sums on cooperative work, and pensions await retirement. A $10 million body plant keeps the Studebaker standard with generations laboring to craft such bodies, finished with multiple coats of paint and varnish, including open bodies that are upholstered.
