Arguments on Des Moines saloon consent petition heard
In Des Moines Iowa March 18 the Iowa supreme court heard three hours of arguments for and against the sufficiency of the saloon consent petition. Attorney Havner for Pilkington argued a technical appeal issue while Parker for Potwin urged dismissal. The case hinges on a possible ruling on the appeal notice and on a retroactive legislature act legalizing affidavits by Bessie L Cohen, a notary in question.
