Des Moines clerks to get raises as reform bill drafted
Des Moines March 11 The reform committee drafting the state house gallery bill announced pay raises for many clerks and deputies from $100 to $300 yearly and increased wages for custodial staff. A purchasing agent and an executive council member would be added at salaries up to $1 680 and $3 600 respectively. Additional increases target the bond and investment department, the treasurer’s office, the state library commission, and rail pad offices with a pattern to raise salaries for office workers while not boosting those appointed by the governor.
