Des Moines mourns Capt. Harry C. McHenry formerly of Nes Moines killed in action in France. He married Lucille Romine in Brownsville Texas in November 1916 and served with Co B Third Iowa on the Mexican border before joining Rainbow division infantry. His mother Mrs Lou McHenry received a cable confirming his heroic death and he left a hopeful farewell letter to her.

Deserter from Camp Dodge Caught at Sundance
A deserter who sent his clothes back to Camp Dodge with a threat to stay alive no more is captured at Sundance, Wyoming.
