Russia eyes Iowa made gasoline powered farm implements
Shenandoah March 31 communications with regard to purchasing gasoline propelled agricultural implements have been received by a local manufacturing company from agents of the Russian government at Petrograd. They note Russia formerly bought from the German empire about 400 million dollars worth of manufactured goods annually, which is now cut off. They seek U S sources as the war depletes foreign markets and look for gasoline propelled gear. Patent rights were issued to George B. Carroll who bought the patent from inventor 8 C Baker for a garden plow with a gasoline engine attachment. The implements are manufactured here.
