He helped rebuild the local Methodist church in 1884 and led furniture and undertaki ng ventures as Torrey Evans and Torrey Jones. Survived by one son Clarence A Torrey and widow Susan A Roe. Burial in Oakland Cemetery in Clermont after 2:20 p m service at Methodist church.
