Washington March 8 Democratic party finances moved back into the black for the first time since 1924 with about 250000 in sight to begin battles with Republicans for the 1928 election. The national committee reported 508500 in contributions and pledges, bringing debt to be cleared and leaving perhaps a quarter million for next year. Houston donors supplied 200000 for the June convention, while 50000 came from Thomas F. Ryan of New York and James W. Gerard’s total cash intake reached 142250 since the last report.
