Strief picked for Iowa board of control by governor

J H Strief of Sioux City president of the Federation of Labor has been named by Gov Warditg to join the Iowa state board of control, replacing Wm J Dixon whose term ends July 1. Strief, a printer by trade and former Sioux City Tribune employee, will resign as federation president before July 1. He is active in labor measures before the legislature and is a Republican. Also mentioned is Hon region Democrat Hon W D Sheean pursuing the parole board vacancy, and Judge Stevens of Sidney discussed for the supreme court seat. Adjournment talks emphasize finishing work properly while the Senate calendar contains major appropriation bills. Governor likely delays announcement on some positions.
