If You Take Care of Milking Machine It Will Last Long
Cedar Falls March 7. T Guild ager west of here owns a milling machine ten years old. The original pails made of durable metal are still in use. One must take care of a milker and keep it clean. Wash parts daily that contact milk. Some let the milker go unwashed until it corrodes and fails, then blame the manufacturer. Guildager used one cream separator for about 19 years. When ready to junk it, a dealer advised minor repairs, but the machine was eventually replaced with a new one.

Pool interests hit by unloading
New York March 7. Hudson Motors surpassed its yearly high by crossing 70 in the stock market today. Pools faced a difficult forenoon as several favorites posted losses of around 2 points while offerings pressed. Absence of support for railroads and industrials plus big declines in certain houses led to short selling. Early declines touched a point or more in Houston Oil IFR and Baltimore Ohio, though some pools like Hudson and General Asphalt held firm. Selling pressure spread to oils, rail equipment, motors and specialties as liquidation reflected overproduction in crude and price cuts. Houston slid 4 points after a sharp advance last week. Heavy weekend selling appeared in General Railway Signal, Baldwin, General Motors, and Timken Roller Bearing. A few pools resumed in Kelly, Springfield, Leggett Meyers, and National Biscuit. Continental Baking sold heavily last week on dividend fears but opened up 4 points on short covering. Foreign exchange markets opened steady. NEW YORK MONEY: money market easy with call loans at 4 to 4 1/2 percent. Time money easy at 4 3/4 to 5 3/4 percent. Commercial paper quiet with prime at 4 percent and others at 4 1/4 percent.
