Des Moines reports that the Weaver bill granting primary suffrage to women passed the Iowa house 57 to 15 and is expected to be adopted by the senate with the governor likely to sign. It would allow women to vote in 1920 primaries as well as in conventions and caucuses. The senate also advanced a part time schools bill for ages 14 to 16 workers to attend, and Frailey's measure to add a 1 mill annual tax for two years to bolster the general fund amid budget deficits.
