Brandon March 6. A special election is set for Thursday to approve a franchise for the Brandon Telephone exchange which has taken over the plant and goodwill of the Brandon Farmers Telephone association. Mrs. Jay Kizer remains switchboard operator until a manager is elected.

Boys and girls under 17 in Waterloo are invited to bring their pets to the Waterloo Hobby and Pet Show on April 13 and 14 at Courier hall. Sponsored by the Waterloo Evening Courier City Recreation Department M O A and W G A the event features nine animal classifications plus collections art and crafts and contests in harmonica and whistling. Class A invites under14 and class B covers ages 14 to 17.

Union township board of education members visited County Superintendent A. E. Jewett to discuss constructing a new school in district No. 3. The 59 year old building burned in winter, and classes have met in a vacant house near the old site.

Bristow Couple Weds 62 Years
The sixty second anniversary of John Welland and his wife was celebrated in Bristow Illinois with family visiting from Allison bringing an anniversary cake. Grandson and granddaughter-in-law attended and a sixth birthday party for Robert High was held at his home. Mrs Wilford Griner was admitted to Hampton hospital Monday for an appendectomy.
