Henry Sandoe an 87 year old pioneer of Black Hawk county died at 1 30 pm at his son C O Sandoes Mt Vernon township home four miles northeast of the city He predicted his passing during dinner yesterday before succumbing to old age Surviving are two sons C O Sandoe and Edward Sandoe a daughter Mrs George McMullen and a deceased daughter Eva Nightingale Funeral services will be held from the Mt Vernon township home with burial beside his wife in Elmwood Cemetery

Fred W. Schrag pleaded guilty before Judge Platt to selling heroin without a label. He was fined 100 dollars plus 4.75 dollars costs and an appeal bond set at 500 dollars. Post Special Ahead of Time Makes Record Run
A four car special train carrying C. W. Post averaged about fifty miles an hour from Santa Barbara to Rochester via Kansas City and Des Moines. Reaching Kansas City at nine, then Rochester at nine the next morning, the 471 mile run spared no stops beyond engine changes. The trip cost upwards of $5,000 and set a seasonable speed record. P. W.
