Tons of impure food in Chicago to be destroyed
Chicago March 4 District Attorney Charles F Clyne prepared to destroy several tons of impure foodstuffs cold storage goods and unwholesome drugs the biggest condemned merchandise consignment ever seized by federal authorities in Chicago The case follows a government sweep inspecting cold storage plants and testing samples before seeking a court order for destruction of items including 459 cases of frozen eggs 770 cases of evaporated apples 452 cases of smoked salmon and 400 cases of patent medicines and drugs with impure ingredients or false labels.
