Unusual ancient wheat enters local farm tests
Blough of 266 Hartmond Avenue tests California grown ancient wheat seed said to originate from a single kernel found in Utah. McKevitt, a former Orange Township farmer, plans larger plantings this season while comparing seedings. The grain, found by college students in Utah and sent to California, yields kernels twice as long and hard, potentially making flour.
