Rochester Fails to Find Mill Stone in Flour City History

Rochester once powered the nation’s milling boom and earned the Flour City nickname but now has no mill stones. Dr. Arthur C. Parker’s search for a pair for a museum exhibit failed, leaving researchers to wonder where the stones went as mills switched to patent rollers. The article notes stones weigh about a ton, are hard to misplace, and hints they may be hidden in public buildings or lost to time.
