Streets of Waterloo buzzed with shoppers last evening as local merchants unveiled spring fashions. Crowds packed Fourth Street, windows dimmed to open at 7:29, and both men and women soaked up color and silhouettes from pastel dresses to wide brim hats. Shoppers, couples, and families wandered from window to window, eyeing outfits, capes, and georgette gowns as trends leaned toward light auburnHair and pastel tones.

Nine Ton Boilers to Heat New Walnut Court Apartments
Two nine ton boilers for Walnut Court apartments on the triangle block bounded by Walnut, Pine and lows streets have arrived and will be moved to the site by Shores Transfer company. A team of 10 horses moves each boiler as smokeless units reduce smoke nuisance. A garbage burner and large capacity water heaters for 104 units are being installed in the basement. Igers Brick walls near three stories are complete with concrete slabs for the third floor poured. the fourth floor starts late next week. Plumbers install bathroom and kitchen plumbing on the first floor while electricians work up to the fourth floor.

Thirsty Black man executed by electric currents at Ohio penitentiary
Columbus March 6 two men were executed at Ohio penitentiary early today. Henry White a Black man was put to death after five applications of electricity over 11 minutes. He was convicted of killing his wife in February 1922. Charles Arnold, found guilty of killing his landlady Mrs Ruth Lawrence, also died after three electric chair applications. Officials noted White refused water yesterday, making the execution unusually difficult.

First Presbyterian Finance Campaign to Raise Budget
First Presbyterian church will start its annual finance drive this Sunday to raise a budget of 22,725 dollars. The campaign funds will cover operating costs for the new building expected to be ready for occupancy around July.
