Epitaph by Barbara Young Describes Time and Loss
In verse, the speaker recalls that all things come and go, anger and desire fade, fire and gold are squandered, and wisdom lies in understanding the cycle of passing moments as a city gate glows at night. The epitaph laments vanity and the lesson of impermanence.
